Need a "new" engine fitted to a Ford Focus. Can anyone suggest a company that will supply and fit a second-hand/recon engine? Found a few on the net but was looking for some first hand experiences.

Cheers.

Any local independent garage can fit a simle focus engine I would have thought, and you'll probably get a engine from a local scapyard/ebay.

I think I may be in the same situation as you.

If a new engine is required I will be sourcing it myself, probably from ebay, and getting it fitted by the mechanic down the road from me.

Might be worth looking at this option as you'll be dealing with someone loacal?

fine you finding an engine and local place fitting it if the engine works as described , trouble is if its a dud you then need to pay them to remove and refit yet another engine

if the garage supplys and fits then its thier problem if they fit one and its dud

having said that if its a common car wait for a ebay one you can hear running with proof of milage then buy that if happy its a good un

I understand what your saying but to be honest, I'd be happy to pay a premium for a company to collect the car, source & fit the engine, return the car and throw in a warranty for their working. Weighting up the costs as to whether it's worth getting the car fixed or just sell it spares or repair. Had to hire a car for 3 weeks at £500 just to allow some time to arrange things. So time is of the essence.
