Currently have a budget of 10k after selling my z4 coupe
looking for a car with minimal depreciation tough ask
and looking for something quick and reliable.
2 or 4 seats where to start did think about a tvr but dont have any knowledge of them.
Even if you could get a car within budget.

If you buy wisely, a 10k Elise should go up in value now. smile

Whether it meets the "reliable" requirement is open to debate. hehe

Have had Elise and TVRs. If you want something that's practical to use daily, can go like the clappers when you fancy it, is reliable, cheap to run, zero depreciation, classic insurance, good looking etc etc etc then look no further than a Chimaera 450, ( or 500, 4ltr not quite enough by comparison ). Lovely things but research them and look at a few to gauge what's good vs great vs junk.

There lots of other options for £10k but most will fall down somewhere even if it's running costs, ( Chim has sensible size tyres, ford brakes, range rover plug leads, citroen mirrors etc unlike a boxter ), practicality, ( Elise's a pain in the bum if getting in and out often ), excitement, ( M3 just not that much of an occasion ).

Try a good one and your likely to keep it.

A 2004 or 2005 S2000 is almost depreciation proof if driven <10000 miles per year. The values have slowly gone up over the past 2 years.

Chimaera & S2000 are good suggestions. Both fun, rare and a bit of an event to drive IMO. I wouldn't dismiss a Chim 400 out of hand until you've driven a few. There's often a world of difference in performance between individual RV8 TVRs. My 400 was every bit as quick as a mate's 450 on the road; only been in a '500' once and it wasn't neck-snappingly more accelerative.

Perhaps stretch the budget a bit to a Z3M Coupe?
