Hi all,

I currently have a 2004 1.8 MX5 Euphonic (inferno red) but we've now got a bulldog so I need a back seat, I've been looking for something that is a little more practical but also want something turbo and rear wheel drive, I've had S14 200sx's in the past and still love them but they are getting a little dated now, I'll have about £6k to spend and will be using the car on a daily basis, any thoughts on what to get and what to stay away from as I need something reliable that won't cost me a fortune to run:

Nissan 200sx (minor mods, exhaust, air filter, decat, filter, dv)
Subaru Impreza WRX

Other non rwd choices are: Mini Cooper S Works, Seat Leon Cupra R

Thanks in advance

Paul

Have you thought about the Mazda MPS?

Weird, one of my mate suggested the MPS today, I like the fact it's turbo, awd and has a load of room but it does look a little boring, also reviews say the steering doesn't seem very precise, maybe I'm being a little picky, going from an MX5 I want something thats fun and involving to drive

You might be able to find a BMW 335i in your budget, but if you can live without the turbo a 330i would work pretty well - N52 engine in the E90 models is a fabulous motor.
Alternatively given what you have had keep the turbo, live with AWD and get a Scooby.

I think I'm going to go back to a 200sx, a low mileage in non drift spec is pretty rare but I know I love them and I know I'll be happy with it, plus it kinda scares me if a BMW or Merc go wrong cos I don't want big bills frown

Thanks for the advice guys smile

I'd love a Skyline but the problem is the insurance, I looked at an Evo but anything import is crazy on insurance, I'm 36 with 10 years NCB but they wanted something like £1600 which is bonkers considering a 200sx is only £550 frown

I'd have thought a well speced, non stressed bmw 330 would be a better reliable bet over a 200sx.
