Favorite onboard shot!

Mods for 2015 have so far been upgrade the roll cage and a lick of paint

There will be more to come before the start of the season smile

New brakes on this very cold evening, brembo max discs and a mix of EBC yellow & blue pads.
There is logic behind the mix, always ran the ebc yellows with good success they work well and they withstand the heat pretty well. Did have plenty of fresh air from the brake cooling ducts though, up untill late last season when a new front bumper was purchased with no ducts!

No fresh cool air ment I overheated the brakes & cracked the pads, and the brakes felt pretty spongy to say the least. At this point I upgraded to the EBC blues at the front (never had a problem with the rears) and ran the last race of the season with them, they still got too hot and weren't performing as well as the yellows and the pedal started to go spongy towards the end of a 20 min race. Got through the weekend fine, just plenty of brake bleeding (I use ate super blue)

So for pre season testing I'm leaving the blue pads in I've upgraded to the brembo max disc and I've cut some holes in my lovely new bumper! For cooling ducts, pics to follow. I'm going to do a mornings testing on the blues and put a new set of yellows in for the afternoon and see which I like best.

Couple of questions, what cage is that? and where does everyone get the stickers made up without costing a bloody fortune.

Stickers & cut vynal I usually just go through eBay to find a few contacts then go direct to them for a quote, for what I want. Usually turn out pretty good an not wallet bending. I guess these people on eBay have a machine in their garage / shed / spare room so they can undercut the shops covering rent on retail premises

On the cage front it started life as a omp bolt in single door bar.

Bolted to some floor reinforcement plates (no decent in progress pics, only current pics)

A pillar

B pillar

C pillar

Then a harness bar was added behind the driver

And the single door bars were swapped for doubles, brace added across the bottom of the B pillars and chassis tied to the cage at the A & B pillars, and painted white, pics in 1st post

Cheers. was the fit that far out, or did it have room so you could add the reinforcements and then push it up tight?

Also was it the 2 door m3 version?

It's reasonably a tight fit but form for reinforcement plates, the C pillar fixings on the rear wheel arches had to be built up abit but that allowed them to contain captive nuts.

Hardest part was getting the cage sections in with the dash and windscreen still in, ratchet straps were used!

And yea 2 door M3
