Just seen one in the flesh as I work at a Volvo dealership.
The internet pictures do not do it justice.
Had a good look around and the attention to detail is spot on.
Bowers and Wilkins sound system is to die for.
If you're ordering, make sure you order in the right colour.

There are some good pics of two of the new XC90s at the Eurotunnel in Calais here:

More PH shame - I'm a member of an XC90 forum...

I love it - it's fantastic and scores 11/10 for having a Volvo badge regardless.

I would have one over any other SUV currently on sale.

IMHO, the new one looks like an older version of the old one. Inside it's probably better. But, naaahhh - I don't like it.

Not a XC90 but had a 64 plate V40 D4 Lux with all the toys as hire car for past few days. I'm really impressed at how comfortable it is to spend 500 miles in. It's so quite inside now a single squeak. Only downside is rear visibility and boot space.
Seriously contemplating trying to get a Volvo as a company car.

I think it looks very nice, and the interior is superb, but can't quite persuade myself to choose it over another Range Rover. May change my mind after seeing some road tests / the car in the flesh.

I've got an old style XC90 and I don't like the new styling, looks too 'American'. Bloaty and no idea what they're doing or were thinking with the front wheel arches.

Edited to atrocious spelling !

Cheers for the heads-up Steve.

And thanks for the tip about making sure to order it in the right colour...I've ordered Volvos before and fked up on the colour selection so this is a timely reminder.

Keep rockin' bro!!

Love the look of the new one, had the old one (T6 variant) for three years until very recently, great cars.

Hmmm - my judgement from the single pic above is that it looks a bit contrived, vulgar even.

That front end with its droop snoot and chrome trim appears to reduce any potential it may have for off-road ability; not that that will matter to the majority of buyers who will probably not need to tackle anything more severe than a grassy field.
It's not just Volvo - so many manufacturers are now blinging their 4x4's up - not to my taste.

I'm sure that it will sell well.

I don't think the pic above does it justice at all. Makes it look quite bland to be honest.

Can someone who's a member of the Volvo forum post the pictures that are on there? You need to join to be able to see them.

Indeed. In fact I think whoever designed the wheels is a genius as they make the car appear far more elegant than an SUV of this size and... well, the fact it's an SUV should rightfully ever be.

EDIT: For those keen enough, the configurator on the Swedish site is far superior to the one on the UK site (more options etc). There may be a bit of a language barrier but I reckon it's straight forward enough: http://www.volvocars.com/se/footer/Pages/VDS.aspx

Agreed. Thanks for putting up the photos as well. I do think it looks very nice. Not so sure about the side on view - looks a bit VW - but every other view gets a thumbs up from me. Good to see the interior in that video as well - quality looks right up there with the best.
