Whose Fault?

Coming to work this morning after my lovely month off.

Driving up the mews (public road) behind one of those little sweeper wagon things.

Theres a forklift in his way so he's stopped, I stop behind the sweeper cart whilst the forklift manouvres to allow both of us to pass.

The sweeper cart passes the fork lift and pulls off the road (crosses pavement) into a parking area to the right.

I drive forward towards my parking space (further up on left)

Without any warning, any visible reversing light or any indication the sweeper cart comes straight back out of the space and smack into the front of me. Bumper cracked, needs replacement, no damage to the hoover.

So, to those who are skilled in this sort of thing.

My fault - too hasty to move forward
His fault - didnt check before rejoining the road
Knock for knock?
