The guy is unequivocally an idiot who deserves all he got and more.

BUT: it wasn't a 100 mph chase if the patrol car had to do 97 mph to keep up with him.

As a ZT driver I'm quite pleased the car held up adequately to ensure no one inside suffered any injuries!

Less pleased that a ZT was being driven by a banned chav though frown

MGZT. Good man

What a fking idiot. A year seems somewhat lenient although I'd surmise that this is, in part, due to the tttery being relatively brief.

Good grief - for many years, that junction was on my commuting route; know it well.

"Durham Police said that the chase would have been called off if the officer had known a child was on board."

A "baby on board" sticker seems like a smart investment for anyone who's lifestyle involves being scared of being stopped by the police.

What a loon.

Who else thinks the police driver didn't cotton on to the junction until very late too? A bit of target acquisition fever there I reckon.

Jesus! Good job he did flip it otherwise he would have hit the oncoming traffic head on if he'd have made the corner.

The article mentions the driver has mental health problems and is a "challenged" young man according to a report i've read online, so the use of the word idiot may be strong if the guy has known issues.

Thankfully it could have been a lot worse. The DVLA should be evaluating his capacity to hold a driving licence if they are not already.

ETA - that isn't the article I've already read this morning and doesn't mention his mental health issues. Trying to find the article I was reading but I believe he may not have been insured or permitted to use the car either iirc.
