Personal Registration Plates

Would someone be kind enough to clarify for me what I will need to do to buy and fit a personalised plate please.

I have looked at the PH thread for TVR Registrations and some say 'on retention' What does this mean and what has to happen if its not on retention.

What are the extra costs involved on top of the purchase price and who needs what fee or info.

If you buy it from the DVLA Paul there are no add on costs at all.

You'll find that some comapnies who "uncercut" the DVLA exclude this £80 charge.
