Welcome any knowledge on this subject.

2004 Audi A4 Cab 3.0 Manual (not Quattro if of any relevance).

Rear NS wheel bearing has been confirmed as knackered (humming).

Now the indi is telling me it is only possible to buy the hub and not just the bearing. They are telling me part plus 2 hours plus vat is £360. This isnt an Audi part.

Just waiting for a call from Audi themselves on what they would charge.

Anyone had a similar part repalced or have a view?

Most wheel bearings are part of the hub these days, so it's not a half hour job any more.

I havent fitted one of these to an A4 but have done quite a few on VW Passats and would think its probably the same hub, trade price around £60, retail £90- £100, labour even allowing for problems about an hour, total inc vat no more than £180.

£45 to put my car on a ramp and spin the wheels to confirm which wheel it was. "Is that regardless of whether you do the work?" Yes. So they want £360 inc Vat to do the job with a patern part. Audi Guildford will do the job for £300 inc Vat. So much for trying to support my local small garage.

Do yourself a favour and buy the SKF one instead of the no-name. They supply OEMs etc, and the quality is excellent.
