Dart Charge now applies to classics?

I noticed that my 1969 car now has to pay per crossing where it used to be free because it was pre-1972 and not eligible to VED (IIRC).

Anyone else aware of this?

The Dartford toll has never been free for Classic cars.

Up north the Tyne Tunnel was always free for classics...but never advertised. A few of us used to take advantage but it required a member of staff to walk down and manually open the booth. They stopped this a couple of years ago.

...my old beetle still gets through for free We think it's a weight thing and it's being classed as a bike.
