Picture the scene, earlier on tonight I was trundling along a 2 lane 30 mph limit road in the right hand lane. It was about 9 and traffic was quiet, not far up head the left lane merges into the right lane. Out of nowhere this old Ford Ka comes flying up my inside at I don't know what speed and undertakes, cutting right in front of me right at at the end of where the lanes merge, between the kerb and the front of my car. Next thing I see is blue lights flashing in my rear view mirror and I chuckle to myself as this police car overtakes me and "attempts" to pull over the Ford Ka for the stunt the driver just pulled off, yet he doesn't seem to get the message and drives along the road really slowly for about half a minute thinking that the police car wants to get past him before he finally pulls in. I wonder if he got a ticking off or more.

Has anyone else ever been in any similar funny situations of right place right time?

Any reason why you were trundling along in the outside lane when you should have been in the inside lane.

OP mentions left hand lane merging into right hand lane.
