We were busy having a conversation down the "real" pub last friday when the subject of "Dogging" popped up, it appears that most people know it goes on and a fair few celebs have been caught up in scandals. But out of the half dozen of us there we all agreed we wouldn't be able participate and "share" our loved one and didn't really find the idea of "watching" that appealing either. However in the interests of research a quick google search turned up the first few results for what appears to be a solely UK pastime, I won't put up the url but I'm sure those interested could find it, was a site that listed pages and pages of "locations" (including one about half a mile from my house) plus literally hundreds of adverts for "contacts" and people both male, female and in between plus couples and all sorts looking to participate.

Now I don't think I've led too much of a sheltered life but I was truely gob smacked at the magnitude and sheer volume of "participants" and it appears to be going on right under the noses of the rest of us, I just can't believe I'd never noticed it if it was that widespread. However after about ten minutes "idly browsing" I got nervous about my pc history and thought it might look more like "idly interested" so logged off. But I just didn't know there appears to be an entire "underworld" of casual sex and liason that I knew next to nothing about, which was a shame in the past when I was a single bloke

surely this doesn't deserve an instant padlock as it is a spin off from what was a true pub conversation

A friend of mine who was having an affair used to meet the guy in car parks and they were sat in the car once when all these other cars came in... she found out later it was listed on the website...

The idea of doing it in cars is fine, but I wouldn't want some stranger perving in the window or joining in... but then each to their own I suppose.

Do you think that its simply a modern version of what we all did when we were first driving but still living at home, just that its now got a 20th century name as opposed to being called "courting" ? I can remember being 18 and trying to find secluded spots to park the car with the latest conquest and I can also remember at the same age driving round the same spots with my mates, full beam on and bibbing the horn for a good laugh and to giggle at others rummaging for their trollies in time. I just never remember anything organised or anyone doing it with the intention of getting "caught".

But when you were courting did you actively arrange people to watch?

I'm not sure that's quite what it's about? I thought it was more to do with swinging/swapping than watching?

I must admit, it really does surprise me how far-from-ordinary everyone's sex lives have become these days. I wonder whether it's because we're so saturated with 'regular' sex in the media that we have to constantly push boundaries and find extremes all the time? If so, it's a pity. Nothing seems comforting any more, and even if you don't enjoy that sort of thing, you're made to feel like you're missing out all the time.

I don't like it!

I guess its one of those things that won't get talked about much outside of the circles of those involved. Not really the sort of thing to bring up in conservation.

I don't think its all that big but its more likely that someone will tell you about their interest in clay pidgeon shooting then their love of dogging.

A quick search of google (working at home on my own PC - so no problems there) revealed several links to websites which seem to exist to sell advertising to porn sites (themed on Dogging of course).

In fact a couple of them want you to download stuff to get access. Big no-no and to be honest I would be extremely suspicious that these are even legit. No doubt that there is a big underground scheme here, but as ever, the pornographers have got to it and its not as it might actually seem.....

Not convinced that its any more than sensationalism to sell magazines. No doubt it happens but they way its reported you'd think it was as common as breathing....

There are a lot of Adult Hotels in Germany and I think it's really funny that the cars parked outside are always from other areas. So it's ok to park your car outside a place like that but not for your neighbors to know about it.

There are documentaries about these places on TV too and it always shows fat blokes and old women- Yak.

I guess if your desperate!

Was just doing the same.

Here's a surprise quote from one of their info pages;

THERE ARE MANY TIMES MORE SINGLE GUYS DOING THIS THAN COUPLES OR SINGLE WOMEN.

No shit....
