Hi All,
hope are you well.

I have been looking for a large 7 to 8 seater and have reviewed (online) the usual suspects ie Previa, Galaxy, Sharan, GL.

I do quite like the Mercedes GL (1st Generation) which has come down in price and is full of gadgets.

You can pick up a fully loaded GL for the same price as a Galaxy (though the GL will be slightly older) i.e GL 2008 model vs 2010 Glaxay.

The GL seems to have great space, all 7 seats are a decent size, build quality is said to be better plus all the toys.

I was also looking at the Multimac child car seats to add into the rear (3 seater) to use the GL as a 8 seater - if/when required to go on family trips with our parents (kids seat in the rear Multimac seats).

So I was wondering what you guys think of the Merc Gl? is it the 320 or 400 version to go cover? have you used the multimac car seats? how bad is it on fuel/maintenance?

any think to look out for when I arrange viewings (Private) i.e. suspension issues, rust, electric, engine etc etc
And is it worth using the AA to inspect the car prior purchase ?

Your thoughts/suggestions welcome,

Thanks

Think you have made a typo - 420.

They are a great car. Big to park. Well put together. Ensure suspension fully checked through. The 420 is fast for a big old beast.

Check with insurers over making it into an 8 seater. ALSO how does Multimac work with the electric seats 6 and 7.

Also do not discount the 350 as benefits from facelift and tweaks.

This may help but kept out of it due to the "talk to me"

The multimac works like a child booster seat - it just sits on the exisiting rear seats..and is a bench divided in 3 child seats.

Not sure if my budget will allow for the face lift model.

As I am looking to purchase private anything to keep a look out for when vieiwng ?
Thanks
