Starter motor insulation

Just got my starter motor back from a bit of a service
New solanode
New bushers
Cleaned in and out
Tested and painted


Where can I get the sliver insulation from
The stuff that was on it fell to dust on removel

There are live connectors at the rear of the starter motor. Large unfused cable connected directly to the battery. Be very careful using aluminium foil coated jacket material

Couple of layer of this worked for me solenoid and body secured with CV boot stainless clips/ties

Someone on Pistonheads (Daz?) I remember used a plumbers blowtorch and soldering mat to wrap the starter motor.

Good call, like the stuff above but without the silver and thicker too
