I'm trying to understand the conundrum of why the elderly, despite having no obvious need for the space, love to buy MPVs. Case in point is an old retired couple across from me, just the two of them, one has a Scenic, the other a Note. Lots of space for perhaps 10 people and luggage, but there is only the two of them.

When and why did they migrate from Micras to MPVs? confusedbiggrin

Easier to get in and out. Hips.

Compare to sports car at one end of height off ground spectrum and 4x4/mpv at the other.

Agreed, it's one of the reasons why my mum moved from a hatchback to a Kia Soul.

Great for taking the grandkids out of course.

They need the high seating position to raise grandma's tits off the ground so she doesn't get them trapped in the doors.

I agree most of the old people I know with them find it easier to get in and out of.
