Father Brown - BBC
Discussion
I've been very much enjoying it recently and agree it's wasted in the daytime slot - I would have taken no notice of it at all in that slot if my dad hadn't told me to give it a try (as he knows I enjoy reading detective novels). I'm someone who only rarely even watches anything fictional, normally stick to documentaries and sport, but this one works for me very well indeed

Yep, Mark Williams plays it just right, good supporting cast, nice production values. Another similar period detective drama aired in daytime is the Australian 'The Doctor Blake Mysteries'. Set in the 50s (strange to hear them talking in pounds shillings and pence), but simple understated quality TV with a good plot.
I agree, a hidden gem, I thought I was the only one to watch it.
The Polish girl is easy on the eye as well, which goes a long way towards excusing the odd faux pas, such as the old Norton with of all things a fuel gauge, calibrated in litres too! How could that make it through the production process when the rest of the props are so accurate?

Really looking forward to watching it tonight after everything has calmed down and its time for a glass of Baileys. Thanks again.
