I am a lover of Cars Planes Boats and anything with an engine (Petrol head), but I dream of flying in a spitfire and now there is a company that can fulfil that dream, here and in America, now if you are rich you wouldn't bat an eyelid at the price From £2700, now in my opinion this is a bargain really 20 min flight in a spit and possibly have a small go in flying it (Pilots Discretion)but over 2.5k is still a lot of money for an average Joe I have my 50th coming up and can afford the price and it will not leave me skint by any means buuuuut it is a lot of money to part with in one go !!

what are your thoughts ?

Apparently this year in the skies above Kent where the battle of Britain was fought you will be able to fly a Spitfire too.
Going to be part of a new experience run out of Headcorn Airfield apparently.

yes, at Goodwood and dressed as 40s airman!
I was driving a Morgan (roof down obviously) through St Mary's when one took off and i swear i could have touched the undercarriage (well...). The track briefing did say "the airfield is active today, if you do see an aircraft movement while on track do not look up just carry on driving..."
That was as near as i'll get to being near one in action.

If it really is your dream, then do it. If you could actually fly it too that would be special.

Go for it,

this is a bucket lister for me and with the Goodwood Spitfire just down the road it will be something i do.

Ask yourself how many people are still alive that have flown, or even been in, a Spitfire. You will join an elite group.

I sat at the Aero club one saturday morning, having breakfast with my daughter, when the unmistakable sound of the Spitfire rang out. It exited the hanger and taxi'd right past us before hurtling down the runway and into flight. What an experience just to watch and hear it.

When you do it please capture the moment with a headcam and post it on here

I think you need a PPL to be able to pax in the Goodwood Spitfire? Not 100% but it rings a bell.
