Anyone else following the buzz about Unreal Engine 4 and what people are doing with it?

For example, this tech demo from level designer and 3D artist Benoît Dereau who worked on Dishonored

I'm looking forward to seeing a full-blown game that uses it.

Also, I didn't realise how many games use the Unreal Engine (in its various versions) until I looked at the Wikipedia article listing them:

Someone posted a couple of videos of this in the YouTube thread. People seem impressed.

I remember seeing similar things when Unread Engine 3 came out....then no developer used it as they just wanted to make stuff for limited consoles frown

I remember running the original Unreal on a dual processor Pentium Pro as it was one of the few games with multiple CPU support and coupled this with duel Voodoo cards running in SLI mode.

It was bloody amazing (for its time).

Dual Voodoo - that takes me back.
I ran a PC (?AMD 500 MHz) with dual Voodoo 2 8 mega bytes per card (that's mega not giga for you young 'uns)

I used to run a loose case cooling fan, bluetacked on the chips for additional cooling!

8Mb? I thought I'd arrived when I bought my Orchid ProDesigner II with 512Kb RAM. smile
