Feeling from Ultima

maybe a silly question, but what does it feel like to accelerate in an Ultima, compared to other reasonable quick cars, m5, m3's, level of power?, and next question - can the human body feel the extra g-force that an Ultima will pull during acceleration, or is there a limit on what we can feel??

I don't ever think the feeling of acceleration from the drivers seat is as pronounced as it is from the passenger seat (probably due to being in contact with the controls). But I will say this...... My canam makes my old ferrari 360 seem pretty pedestrian. When an ultima is 'fully lit' you have to be on top of your game and the road NEVER seems long enough.
I have a TVR Cerbera which is not a slow car, but the Ultima is way faster.
In my opinion, humble as it may be, it is down to the torque. The car's you mention (and the Cerbera) are quick once you get them wound up, but by that time the Ultima is way down the road.
Instant acceleration is available at any time in any gear. Then get above 5k revs and everything becomes a blur....
These cars provide supercar performance.

If you can hook it up they will out accelerate anything.dave
when an M3 is running out of puff an Ultima with a moderately powerful engine will pull away like the Bimmer is standing still.
When I first gave my car the full beans I nearly threw up no exaggeration.
As deadscoob said traction is a massive limiting factor without the traction control that most super cars have. But some would argue that the Ultima is a more pure drive because of not having it. I also agree that having the correct gearbox is again crucial, the only problem is I've not worked out which is the best gearbox but think it may be the Albins synchromesh sequential not necessarily with paddle shift. Having said all that having had fast bikes and raced Superkarts and Radicals the Ultima experience is unbelievable and takes some getting used to.

I think the jump from a shopping car like a Micra/Fiesta etc with puny engine, up to a BMW M car say, is about the same jump in performance from the M car to an Ultima with a high spec engine.
Echo the points about purity of driving too - a big factor in my choice was the purity of the experience. Sure, on a damp day, the computer on a Nissan GTR might get a novice off the line (and round the track) quicker than the same novice in an Ultima, but whats the point in that? When I hit the loud pedal it goes straight to the wheels - if I hit it too hard the wheels spin, and if I am silly the car will spin. That was part of the appeal for me.

Echo the points about purity of driving too - a big factor in my choice was the purity of the experience. Sure, on a damp day, the computer on a Nissan GTR might get a novice off the line (and round the track) quicker than the same novice in an Ultima, but whats the point in that? When I hit the loud pedal it goes straight to the wheels - if I hit it too hard the wheels spin, and if I am silly the car will spin. That was part of the appeal for me.

If you are looking to buy one, I will am putting mine up for sale soon, 700bhp LS7 flat floor, modified suspension (no oversteer) active rear wing, customized body, hydraulically adjust front suspension height etc. etc.
I have to ask, I see so often many Ultima owners sell their carThey're expensive toys and very seasonal. Over winter they rarely get used, just like other toys and owners often decide to sell, just like they do with other occasional cars, gt3s, lotus's etc.
I've thought about it a few times, but on the right day there's simply nothing else road legal to come close to the experience these things give you.
