This turned up in my what to watch list on Youtube (photonic induction channel). Impressive how this thing that fits in your pocket can start a 5L merc V8 all by itself! (battery disconnected).
I have a Jump Start 4000 that weighs a ton to do the same job (used once), but this thing you can leave in the boot!

I picked up a similar battery by a company called antigravity. Brilliant thing for keeping in the boot. Has a built in torch and a bunch of connectors for charging phones, laptops etc. Plus it starts the TVR !

I was thinking of getting one of those 'jump start' packs recently (daughters car doesn't like cold weather) and just so happens one is coming up in Aldi tomorrow - £50 - does have an integral compressor though. I was going to get one.

But now I have seen this, for not much more - its a no brainer. What a great bit of kit.

Sadly won't be using it for the TVR though, that will be with a new owner soon hopefully.

Hmmm not convinced.
That is ridiculously small (too small) plus the size of the output connectors and thicknesses of the cables are too small to handle the current. In the video with the van, he also appears to connect the reed lead to the negative side of the battery.

Fantastic I bought one last year although i did get a friend to get it from the USA when he was coming over the best bit of Kit around and starts all my cars when needed from the crossflow to the V8 5lt however its been very useful when re wiring the Tuscan as i dont have to worry about connecting up the Battery on the car or even have the wiring going to the battery in order to test circuits i just use the anti gravity battery its amazing the amazing thing is it can be re charged from your cigar lighter in the car on trickle charge and on one charge they say it will start a car i think up to 25 times i know in 6 months i have yet to charge mine and its started the 3000s 3 times and been used for testing as well and its still showing fully charged

I have watched a mate jump start his van off a small lithium ion battery used for his model aircraft, very impressed that it started a transit that was stone dead when he was a race weekend, a tiny battery cranked it over with ease! Smaller than that unit above, so it is plausible and I did wonder who would develope this technologie in to a domestic form.

I've been mulling over buying a Battery Brain (had one on my previous Tuscan), but this little device may have changed my mind.
As long as it holds its charge, sounds good.

I've got one too. Not brilliant, will support a low battery for a start or give enough juice to enable you to pop the boot to get at the battery. But it wont start a car with a totally flat battery.

The compressor is useful as I don't have to use the local petrol station one now.

Blimey, glad I ordered the 'smaller thing' from Amazon when I did now, seeing as they have sold out smile
