Left handed threads ?? which side of the car ??

Left hand nuts go on the left hand (near)side...PERIOD, besides the factory being correct,it is common engineering practice. Please, just think about it before you decide to do otherwise.
Just to set your mind at rest, a quick guide is to spin the hub/wheel in its normal forward direction and make sure the nut spins on the same way..simple! The torque of the hub, wheel or whatever must not be trying to loosen the nut.
An example you might reflect on is is wire wheel spline hammer lug nuts!

I agree but it took lots of finger circling motions of wheel directions and visualation of off and near side of the car to get it ...
Sorry to labour this point, but its been bugging me for a while, so I read up using two build manuals and they both state the following: "The front hub with the righthand thread should be fitted to the lefthand N/S of the car, and the lefthand thread rear hub should be fitted to the lefthand N/S of the car and visa versa"
The second part of the statement would make Roy correct,however, the first part contradicts this, is it because the locking nut is on the inside of the hub at the front and as a consequence the forces act in the opposite direction?

Have found that on Transit vans the L/H threaded wheel bolts go on the N/S of the Van. That says Anti Clockwise direction wheel has a Nut that does up Anti Clockwise. But the front nuts are on the inside of the hub and there fore are going in a Clockwise Direction, so have to have a R/H nut on the bearing Hub but a L/h Nut on the Wheel....
Hope that makes sense....
Just to realy confuse matters the rear Hub Nuts are on the wheel side of the Hub and there fore are the same as the Wheel nuts.
Front N/S Hub Nut:- R/H
Front N/S Wheel Nut:- L/H
Rear N/s Hub and Wheel Nuts:- L/H
PS.. Yes I am fitting Racing Peg Drive Single Nuts Wheels, just incase anyone thinks the standard 5 Stud Ultima Hubs have different threads, as they are all normaly R/H threads..
