anyone know if speed cameras can be put on the later F series BMWs nav systems.
Can find a few ebay companies doing this for the older cars but none for the more modern cars yet

I really miss having the speed cameras come up on the 3D map

I do too, I had visual and audible warnings on my old E39 M5 but it was a hack of the system, in some European countries the system would give warning when in proximity to a military site, the hack involved populating the list of military sites with the co-ordinates of speed cameras, changing the icon to a speed camera one and the message to a speed camera warning. The problem was always that it was a proximity warning rather than an 'on your route' warning so spurious warnings of nearby cameras on roads in close proximity to your route would come up.

AFAIK there is no speed camera setup for the CIC systems.

Can't be done frown

I'm gutted, previously had the COMAND in my C63 where I could add POI's via an SD card but you can't do this with the Pro Nav.

It's something I plan to look into although I suspect it's not trivial.

If you have a BMW enet cable and software, there is an option to enable import and export of poi. I plan to try turning this on, exporting a poi file, determining the structure, creating a camera poi file the same format, and try importing it,

If it works, and my talent and time may run out before I achieve this, it will give cameras on the map but not notifications/alerts . I'm also unsure whether this will be possible on both cic and nbt systems.

But these problems are solved one step at a time!

You used to be able to do on the E9#'s But they only showed as an icon with no sound warning when approached. So kind of pointless really.

no not pointless at all. I've always turned the warning noise of cameras off on my nav and only even had them appearing as icons. I find that fine for me. When I'm in an unfamiliar area I'm scanning the nav a lot of the time. When I'm in familiar surroundings I know where the cameras are.

+1

I had the 'bongs' turned off in my Mercedes.

I just want visual too.

I had a subscription to PocketGPS but they don't do it for F series Pro Nav.

There obviously quite a market for F series speed camera warnings if someones keen to do it.

Also something I miss from my last car, had it in that via a POI route!
