I've got my car in the main dealers at the moment having some bits checked over (still under warranty). They have advised new pads/discs on the rear (I was expecting this as I could see the pads were low) Fitted price around £460. Seems a lot to me for rear brakes. Any thoughts or any recent prices?

Its a main dealer - what do you expect smile

My TDV8 RRS got through pads all round at 35k miles
My discs are still good at 50k

How many miles have you done and how hard has it been driven?

The car has done 40000 miles. I've had it six months so unsure of how it has been driven previously. I don't drive it particularly hard. I would normally change them myself but due to the electronic handbrake I cant wind the pistons back in!

Fair enough then, but it does sound steep

Can't suggest anything near you I'm afraid, however try fullfatrr.Com or similar for indie recs

Good luck

Had my rear pads swapped last week at an independent, £200 all in (4.4 Vogue SE). The dealer said the discs needed replacing but they don't and that's after 60k miles and 3.5 years.
