Has anyone got one / driven one?

I am looking at buying a new FFRR and planned on a 4.4 TDV8, but several people have said that the 3.0 is so good that the 4.4 is a waste of money.

My local dealership hasn't got a 3.0 on demo and won't have one till March.

One of my main concerns is body roll. I believe that the 4.4 has the anti-roll system, whereas the 3.0 doesn't.

Correct and this is the deal breaker for me. I had a 3.0 for a few days last year and was pleased to get back in my late L332 4.4 Vogue SE. I've also driven the L405 4.4 and it's very good. Far more refined and relaxed than the 3.0 in my opinion.

Did you find the anti-roll system well dialled? I had a Porsche with something similar and it made unexpected adjustments, giving a sea-sickness feeling.

I've got the SC which comes with adaptive dynamics as standard and it is a joy to drive and very well judged. Whereas I enjoyed the drive in my previous gen RR, adaptive dynamics is what makes the difference in the new one (and some weight loss).

Test drove a 3.0, liked it but ended buying a new Sport SDV6 Dynamic for a few reasons. The 3.0 on the sport is more powerful than in the FF (in SD guise at least) and with the dynamic you get the active anti-roll bars which are just fantastic, and it isn't much smaller. Oh and it is a chunk of change cheaper...

3.0 is nice but the 4.4 is so much nicer in both handling and poke. Even turns in reasonable mpg.....the average on mine over 17k miles has been 30.5 mpg.

Some people dont agree but I think the slightly gruff nature of the v8 makes it feel more Range Rovery if that makes sense.

I had an L322 and the L405 with active suspension handles so much better - bends I took at 30mph in the L322 can be taken at over 50mph with the L405 without body roll/wallow

its simply sublime handing for such a big beast
