Audi 01E 5/6 speed box

Does anyone here have any experience with this transaxle on a high power/high torque motor?
I have heard anecdotal stories of this box unmodified (2.7 diesel derived??) of running and surviving >700BHP on slick tyres with no problems.
I haven't heard anyone quoting torque figures but I'm told there are people in the states running up to 1000 BHP through one of these boxes so the torque figure must easily be 650+ lbs/ft if true.

Have looked at this also. There are some good forums on the German tuning sites highlighting the best code selections (seems there are several ratios and component specs within the range) and upgrade-mods ...well worth a read .. Was a couple of months back so I've no specific link but google should point you correctly .
