Thank you those who emailed me about the old "Kettle" C-type which was sold last night. As I thought, it would either stagnate or fly, and it was the former. The auctioneer had to work very hard to sell the car at 275,000€, which equates, before commission, to about £210,000. After commission, I guess the price net was about £175,000. I'm rather pleased I sold it a year or two back now! Perhaps the price then was influenced by the Goodwood appearances. I wonder where it has gone though; perhaps to a museum? About the only place it should be I guess.

So often you hear of people selling something only to hear the buyer then passed it on for a huge profit.
Here I guess you are in the position of being able to consider it as an SEP (Someone Else's Problem)
So long as you got a price you were comfortable with, that's all that really matters.

Hi Tony.

I watched it as it happened online assuming you were in the room in Paris,turns out, according to Dad, you weren't there.

I did wonder briefly if you had bought it back.

I just hope the seller got £50k worth of enjoyment out of his time with it.

Got to be said there was some very tasty metal going through on the night.
