Strange speedo behaviour.
Discussion
Curious if anyone has had this before. Seems to have sorted itself after turning the ignition off and on and changing from MPH / KMH.
Anyway speed worked as normal until around 10mph. Then while increasing speed the digital was fine. Needle span round very quickly. Hits the end of the dial and then returned to normal. By around 20-25mph. Basically went all the way from 10-200 between 10-20mph.
Just wondering if anyone has a cause for this? An if it's the beginning of a potential problem.

As with the others, mine has done this a couple of times a year for the last 8 years! Nothing to worry about.
If you need a speedo reading whilst it is doing it, as you are driving maybe, then use the digital one, as that is not affected.
With mine, each time I turn the key off & on, the needle goes down 40 mph or so, and when it gets back to zero, all is fine.
Until next time!

It's fine now. I just wanted to check, more for peace of mind. Had not seen it mentioned on the forums.
Just had visions of needing a whole new cluster and expecting them to be rather expensive. As it is my daily, it has been getting used in the snow an everything else. So as son of you say, cold etc could be the reason.
I always keep the digital one anyway. Was just the needle dancing about was a bit worrying and my MOT is due next month. So was a case of just wanting to make sure.
Cheers guys.

its a result of a poor solder. I had mine doing this from new and VX wouldn't do a thing with it despite me filming it and corroborating the date by including the BBC radio 4 news report and a shot of the days news paper. It would only do it sporadically and yet despite most forum members at the time reporting it, VX would do nothing to resolve the problem.
