Cayman 987.1 values set to 'stratosphere' in 2015?

Hi all, I've been watching the market over the last couple of years and although some will snigger I can't help but feel these are set to take off at some point. It doesn't take a lot of working out, the 987.1 is clearly the purest cayman drivers car, manual, free revving engine, analogue dials and feel, small in form with classic styling borrowed from the curvier 911 models. Those 'in the know' realise that each subsequent model has only gotten more bloated with additional weight and size, unnecessary addenda, token power increases and generic body styling that makes them look toylike in comparison.

Looking at the market it's obvious higher prices will favour those speced with triangle steering wheel, cdr24 radio, parrot audio I got installed at halfords, all of which accentuates the caymans minimalist sports car feel. Colours favoured by the most discerning buyers will likely be black, mostly basalt metallic black as this is the rarest colour like my car. Anyway this is just what I've seen, I'm not selling my car, it's a keeper. All the best.

I doubt it, the 987.2 on the other hand will hold good value it's a far better car and no chocolate engine.

I doubt it. One day they will be 5 grand snotters. Great little drivers car but they'll all end up worthless and scrapped..

The car I own, however, is almost certainly going to rocket in value. It also has a Parrot hands free.

I doubt it. If you want 'pure' then you might argue a 986/996 is the one to go for. In any case just look at the general trend of prices for 986/987/997 to see where the Cayman is going. Some specific models have maybe plateaued in the last 15 months but outside of GT3 nothing has shown a steady or consistent rebound.
