So, I have a spare Sonos connect and I am looking at making it into a second system in the office.

Music is all Spotify premium or iTunes off a dedicated laptop. No CD player is used!

My main living room system is an Arcam solo mini, with Sonos connect and Monitor audio Silver 1's. I also have a Play1 for the kitchen.

Is there any reason I can't wire these into the connect in the office using the RCA?

My only concern is if they will play in stereo, and how volume is controlled (assuming through the basic control in the iPhone app?)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Agree with toxic. Should be absolutley fine.

Set the Sonos connect at maximum volume and then adjust the volume output of the active speakers. When you get to a level your happy with leave it alone and then use the Sonos app to control the volume day to day.

That's great. So even though there is only one Coax output/input we should still be running in stereo?
Those focals get great reviews, and you have a choice of size and amplification too

My son recently bought a pair of Q Acoustics BT3s.

I am mightily impressed with them.

They also have remote control and a good selection of inputs.

Shop around, I've seen them as low as £279 (Amazon IIRC).

you set the Sonos to line level output and control volume via a device remote

Sorry, Toxic and I were assuming that you DIDN'T have a remote with the active speakers (most common)

As Sparks says and if you have a remote, set the Sonos to FIXED Output and use the Active Speaker remote to control volume.

Sorry for confusion.
