Just had a call about this, quote is £250, I see them go for around that on eBay.

It has some sentimental value, but I am now into automatics, JLC, Patek etc.

Should I?

I only use it for work.

I used to have a fake 6000 from Vietnam. It turned pink after a year or so.

Sorry, that's not very helpful is it paperbag

Yeah, deffo, it's only £250! If only for the bracelet!, the TAG6000 is one of my all time favourite watches so I am a bit biased 😃

It's quartz, I suspect a replacement "movement".

Yep.

They use the ETA 955 series movements at that age. It's easily good enough quality to service, but the difference in price between servicing and replacement is so small that it's not usually worth servicing. The whole movement can be bought and fitted for well under that price once you take the Brand Name tax off wink

No Problem - keep those in stock so can usually quote a pretty fast turn-round on them as well smile

Not heard of Swiss Serve personally, but I suspect someone round here will have smile

Re cosmetic work, I'm happy to do relatively light polishing / brushing / refinishing if requested but if you're talking deep gouge removal then I try to steer clear of it - it's far too easy to loose the lines of the case and end up with an EBay style jelly-mould special unless it's what you do all day, every day
