CAD file help

Does anyone have any idea how cad works ? I am after getting some items water cut out of 3mm Stainless steel and the company I can use is wanting a cad file of the item, I'm lost LOL

Download Drftsight, do some google'ing, draw some st, get st made...

• assuming it's just a two dimensional plate, rather than a three dimensional part, otherwise you'll need to download a trial version of AutoCAD, you'll get 30 days to get it right...

What is it your trying to do , if its not to complicated and you have a sketch i could probably help . I usually send stuff for laser cutting in a .dxf format
you would have to ask your chosen company what format is best for them.

Do you have a diagram with dimensions? I could probably knock them up pretty quick.

Thanks for the help, I want to make some brake caliper emblems out of 3mm stainless steel which will be painted gloss black but want something like the photo below, they want a cad version but may be happy with another file type

Going to be a hard one as I want the griffin to be solid and not cut out if you know what I mean, I also want it to be slightly curved to fit in the curve of the caliper, measurments are 45mm tall x 95mm long

Not the best screen shot of what i have but you get the idea, also have it with the eyes and rings tagged in so it stays as one piece when cut

Check there are no splines used, sometimes the software they use on the cutting machines doesn't like them. Also it should be ok with water cutting but with laser cut thickness of steel can affect the distance between the cuts.
