I am planning on getting an Ultima GTR primarily for track use. I am trying to decide whether to buy the factory roller and have someone drop in the engine/tranny here, or whether to buy the parts and have them assembled here by someone who knows what he is doing. Any opinions on either method? Any references for a good builder in the USA?
Also, I have been considering Amerspeed's 18 degree 640bhp 377 dry sump engine, and the G50 gearbox. Any opinions on whether this is a good combination for a track car?
Are there any items I should be installing from the get-go (aside from roll cage, fire system, fuel cell) that will help for the track?
Have any of you tracked these cars extensively, and if so, any recommendations? Any reliability issues?
Sorry for all the questions, but having just sold my previous track car which was a money pit (it came from Italy and had a little horse on it, was a Challenge version and needed a pit crew and a fortune in parts and labor every week) I'd like to avoid any costly mistakes on this next one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The GTR640 377 was designed to be a track winner against the fastest road legal track cars oe Caterham R500...
It is a very quick track car and I have great pleasure in the car ....
You will need a dry sump, Ti valves to reduce wear, steel crank and rods ... opt for the rose joint suspension and you will be fine ... RAC MSA roll cage a must at a minimum
Being a SBC american engine everything is easy, the Porsche G50 is good enough for the job ..
Mostly change the oil after every track day ..
If you get to England you are welcome to be a passenger ...
