OK I know this has been covered to death but as I have the car up on stands I was wondering:

I think my car has Dexron 2 in the gearbox, as stated on the service record from T v R last year when I bought it. While it is up on the stands, is it worth changing to either the Mobile 1 & Molyslip or the Difflock route? There is no problem with the gear change or such like, it would be done purely as a service recommendation.

If I went the Difflock route, does anyone know the difference of evo1, evo2 or evo3 and which would be the right one?

I have read also in some older posts that thicker oils can damage the inbuilt pump, is this true or not? as even the Mobil 1 route would be thicker than the ATF that is recommended and looks like some of the Difflock grades are near enough pukka gear oil..

Cheers.

Mobil 1 and moly slip for me all the way. No cold baulking and gear change noticeably better. Gets my vote.

Use proper gear oil rather than ATF. Beyond that, there are lots of choices. I use Redline MTL.

I've put about 25k on the Mobil+Moly now, it seems to get smoother and smoother. Even when I am lazy with the clutch and crunch it...

No more problems with cold mornings neither.
