Hi guys
... still here.
We had 8 or 9 inches of rain in 36 hours then two nights of 80-90 mph winds. Lost power for a day, lots of trees down and local roads are a still bit dodgy... good job I bought a defender - quite a bit of 'off roading' at present.
Worst of it is that the local (www.kirkstile.com) has been closed with no power since Saturday morning ... NO BEER!

How does life up there compare with the Cotswolds?
Blimey mate... ask the easy ones first won't you?!
um
Wetter. Warmer. A LOT more windy. Not as many posh pubs with posh food. Pubs that are good are *really* good. No locals to speak of, which is both good and bad. (The tourists are of very decent quality, but drive crap cars).
Neighbours are much, much more friendly.
More cow & sheep poo on the roads.
More speed cameras, speed cops, muggers and sand bags.
(This is in no particular order you understand).
No roads to blat on, but great roads to view from.
I would'nt live here full time, but it's REALLY worth a visit (get God to organise some weather).
That what you were looking for Top?

Thanks, chap.
Nah.. can't see me moving up north. But I can see me moving to the Cotswolds.
From your terrific websites I recall that was your neck of the woods, so I wondered why you left it.
Need access to London still unfortunately, so the Stow / Kingham area looks possible. The Mrs , however, wants to head toward Oxford.
