details in todays Autocar of the forthcoming Boxta coupe...a new 3.4 litre, 300bhp lump, a Clubsport version should be available. Already as quick as a 997 around the ring all for £50k.

I am pleased yet suprised porsche are making the car to this spec,
The 997S truly becomes the GT car of the range for that extra £20k.

This is very interesting. I have a letter of intention in at my local OPC for the Clubsport version, should they ever make one.

Johnny, a 993Rs & a Boxsta CS......you are going to be very busy at work Which one do you take to the track?

If only they had put the Gt3 RS lump in, the Boxta CS coupe....that is a car I would definitely own if it was a proper porsche model.

Paul,

Having bought the 993 RS, the idea of owning a Boxster CS, although nice, isn't realistic for me. However, I think it will still be a nice motor.

I also have a letter of intention on the Clubsport.

Not sure it's worth 50k though.

£50k

I thought this was going to be below £30k! I guess that'll be the 2.7 coupe then.

Is that the same 3.4 litre, 300bhp engine from the early 996s then?

I heard a rumour that Porsche has a surprise up it's sleave for this car.

It is going to have a steel folding roof like the SLK. This may explain why the car is going to cost 3% more than the roadster.

Which other manufacturer sells the convertible cheaper than the roadster???

Hopefully that doesn't include the club sport version

Sean, no mention of the trick roof in the article,,,rear computer generated piccy showed it as a hatchback. Where would the roof go when it retracted? the engine is behind the rear seats!

With respect to the CS version, this was being developed and could still be some time away...hang on to your intent.

A good mate of mine reckons that the new Boxster comes with a 'care' pack as an option. Comes with Porsche logo brush, scissors, dryer, curling tongues, etc.

He's having a laugh right?
