How to prove oil pressure with no gauge or light wiring?

Hi Guys,
So the car has been lurking in the garage over winter while I do a few bits. I've got no wiring to the oil light (which has blown the bulb I think from memory - not had the dash off to check), and I've got no wiring to the oil pressure gauge (loom issues...).
Is there a way to prove there is at least some oil pressure such that if I find which wire to hook up the feed to the oil pressure gauge to - it will read some pressure. I need to have the engine running to expect a reading on the gauge... but I don't want to do that unless I know I have lubrication.
As it stands, unconnected I get max reading on the gauge.
I have no reason to believe it would have issue with oil flow, other than an oil change I did. Unless the serp requires priming...?
