I'll be in north Wales for a short break next week, - does anyone know if Biggles et al will be performing at the Mach Loop next week? (w/c 16th feb)

If you're on Facebook have a look for mach loop lfa7 groups. There are often good photos cropping up, I think I saw something about evening flying scheduled for the next week or two, but it seems to be random / weather dependant.

Ignore the link the timetable is for LFA7T (Low flying area 7 Tactical) which is South of the Mach loop and where jets are allowed down to 100ft.

It's very hit and miss but avoid Monday's and Fridays, weekends will be nothing so that leaves you with 3 days to pick from then you need to know if any squadrons are overseas or on other exercises around the UK and you can soon find a day of no flying or very limited flying. Unfortunately it's very hit and miss.

I said avoid Mondays and Fridays as certainly for the RAF Monday mornings are slow and Fridays it's home for tea and cake generally at 1300 unless your on the Helicopter fleet. So to increase the chances of a good session mid week is better.

You may be able to work out some rough times from the Notams for the areas you're interested in.

Clicking on a red circle gives dates and 'guide' as to what's happening, but as others have said no guarantees. You should be able to work out what most of the abbreviations mean.

Low flying aircraft do not NOTAM their movements. If they did they would spend more time submitting NOTAMs than spent flying along with the ops staff plotting a sea of red and black on the maps in the operations room.

If you do know anyone in the RAF or AAC ask them to speak to an opsie and ask if they can take a look on CADS (Im not going to bother with what the initialisation is for it, as it is irrelevant) for the day and times you want to go and they will be able to tell you close to the minute when an aircraft will be flying through.

It's a complete lottery I'm afraid. Weather plays a huge part, as does time of year and, certainly for training establishments like Valley, the night flying programme, which will almost certainly write off day flying in the summer months. Have a look at a long term weather forecast and go when the met is better, then it's a case of sitting and waiting.
