The old radio aerial still received radio waves but that was as good as it got. I couldn't believe it was still the original unit with some very bodged original TVR wiring!
Anyway, a manual job with base loaded coil but can still be extended has replaced it for a while until I get a new electric unit and fit.
I found that fitting the new aerial was a bit involved because the fibreglass was about 1cm thick, I had to thin it out a bit inside the car with a small grinder!
