Selective redundancy.

The building trade sucks.
Yet again I am out of work due to the company being 'between jobs'.
One of the other blokes they have let go told me the company has a habit of doing this and they have been in trouble for getting rid of permanent staff but keeping agency people.One person they seem to be keeping has not worked there as long as I have but he is the foremans favourite.
If this was the case,(I might burn my bridges),but I would not hesitate to report them,only thing is,how?
I am not in a union.
I sent the MD an e-mail saying in the last year I have not put a foot wrong and have always gone out of my way to do the right thing.It just shows that old fashioned things like turning up on time and working hard count for nothing these days.
