I've got a Carl Zeiss Hasselblad lens. How much is it worth?

My younger brother works in a storage facility and gets stuff for free which people have forgotten for a long while.
Today he brought a Carl Zeiss Hasselblad 4/40 lens. I'm wondering how much it's worth? It came in a really nice Hasselblad leather box made in Sweden (the lens is made in "West Germany", so I guess it's not cheap. I figured via Google that it may be a few years old and it's heavy and clunky, but excellent for digital commercial photographs.

Thanks. I'm getting all sorts of numbers regarding value, still confused about the real value of it. But it looks like £500 is the lowest price point and that's not bad at all.
