M5 now almost 3 years old. No problems up to now 20k.
Question is, gamble without or insure with a warranty. I know for E60 was compulsory, but this car is less highly strung!!
If so, through BMW or Warranty direct or similar.

I'd be inclined to stick with the Warranty as will enhance resale value, although as you've only covered 20k miles the gamble may be worth it but i think you'll lose the option to renew if any break in cover.

I started Mondial Extended Warranty back in December.

Comprehensive cover, zero excess including breakdown...£104 per month.

You can go cheaper (limited cover, excess etc) but I was expecting about £100 per month so happy to get everything in for that.

OK, thinking of using Warranty Wise for Warranty.
what should I set the claim limit to? 5K or more, has anyone had any experience of costs of these cars when they go wrong.?
Thanks

Get the BMW warranty only, then you know you are pretty much covered.

My friends M5 is currently in for a mis-fire and they have changed a lot of parts over already, and its still not fixed.

Just not worth the gamble!

Personally I'd only use Mondial. I've never had a problem (back when my E46 M3 had problems) which BMW Extended Warranty hasn't fixed.

My choice would be Mondial or bank the money and hope for the best...but that's my personal opinion.
