After a throttle position sensor for a late Fiat Bravo 155 HGT. 2000 model to be specific (I know was manufacturered after 03/2000 as the oil filter is the later type). X601 LJW.

Seems it may be a dealer only part as they're not listed anywhere online. Can't find a single place selling them new or used for cars after 1998.

I've called my local Fiat dealers and they were next to useless. Lost interest as soon as it turned out it was for a 15 year old car with the 20v VIS engine. Said they would get back to me and haven't.

Not after a discount but would be good to know if the part is available new and a rough idea of price.

Any help appreciated.

The "industry norm" is for manufacturers to continue supply of critical parts for a good many years after a model has been discontinued. There is a code of practice under which they ensure supply from the time a new model is launched, throughout its production life and for a reasonable period afterwards. Amongst other things this keeps insurance group ratings down so encourages people to buy that manufacturer's cars.

For models which have sold a decent number of units the manufacturers generally reckon on at least 5 years. For popular models it's generally at least 10.

IMO the Fiat dealer network is probably your best bet. Or a breaker's yard.

I can only find one listed up to 1998, and that system is usually pretty good.

Are there any parts numbers on the part that you could put into Google to see which other cars use the same bit?

There's no way someone who works in a Fiat parts supplier would have time to respond.....

Just had a quick look for you, it seems the part from Fiat is £502.09 - part number: 46736963 PONTETIOMETER

It appears that part is the same on the 1.2 16v and 1.9 JTD models too, so maybe a scrapyard may be a better bet?

Going by the price in that last post it would appear that the potentiometer must be part of a larger unit, fairly normal for Fiat. I recently tried to get a leaf spring bush for a Ducato, not supplied seperately have to buy a complete spring, same spring fitted to Iveco vans, they supply a bush. The plastic sockets on the wiper linkage rods are bad for wearing, used to be able to buy them seperately, Fiat now only supply complete linkage and motor assembly.

How about commonality with the Fiat Coupe, as it's a bit more of a enthusiast motor someone on a forum might be able to help?

Should be on http://eper.fiatforum.com/eper/navi?COUNTRY=012&am... somewhere..

Edit, had a look there and elsewhere, no luck. Can find part number for 95-98 model, non vis engine I'm assuming. Can only find whole throttlebody for vis though.

Edit2 Apparently the vis throttlebody has a potentiometer built in (due to being drive-by-wire I guess), so not changeable I think...

For advice or spares, call FCSS (Fiat Coupe Specialist) on 01684 593187, he'll help you out smile

Cheers for the above guys.

Does indeed look like its the potentiometer attached to the pedal. Few floating around on ebay that apparently fit the Bravo but all a different part number to what Eper says. Haven't had a chance to actually look at the part number on the part in my car.

Try a specialist, as suggested (or FiatForum).

Failing any of that, an Alfa specialist like Jamie Porter at Alfa Workshop, as all the parts come from the same place.

If you give me your VIN, I might be able to tell you what's on your car.
