Just a thought....I always wonder how many people actually look at my profile, whether it's worth writing any [detailed] information in there etc etc.

Would a hit counter on everyone's profile be possible, so you can see whether people genuinely look? Maybe even on each of your car pages, for example, as well as your general profile?

I know that the times I've contacted people because of the info they've had about a specific car on their profile they have been very glad to know somebody reads it, and finds it beneficial

Like I say.......just a thought....?!

Yeah, but, no, but, yeah, but.

Now I've looked at yours (and possibly so has everyone else) I've no need to look again so you'll have no hits.

That's the thing, isn't it? You're compelled to look!

I have to admit that I quite often go to a few people listed in my Mates, just to keep up with what they're posting about (saves me from having some of the exotica in my favourite forums, mostly). So it wouldn't really be representative would it?

But then again, no, but yeah, but...

I find that a fair few people come from my profile to my website

Even see the exact path they take through my site and what pages the look/linger on

Can do. There's a counter on car profiles already (although for some reason it wasn't working on Tony's!).

If Ted would just allow raw html then it would be fairly easy to implement it yourself.

(I know why you disabled it, Ted. I've got my tongue in my cheek whilst typing this. )

Where is this mystical car counter you speak of, I don't see one on my profile anywhere. Perhaps I am just short sighted. Where is it??

Thanks for the replies guys!
Yeah I, like many I'm sure, do tend to look on the profiles even of people I regularly spk with just to see what's changed, if there's any cool new pictures etc, so it may give a slightly false reading I guess.

Ted - what's the hit counter you refer to? Just had a good old delve through my profile, options etc and can't find it (though is it still not working on mine?!)

Thanks!

The car profiles are hit counted, but you can't see the actual value (as far as I can tell). It appears to be used in order to allow you to "sort by most viewed" in the Members Cars only.
