Has anyone ever managed to get a bike rack for there Chimaera? If so, where from and did it work ok (ie. not scratch the paint work)?

I need one to hold two bikes, either that or I have to go all the way to Cornwall in a Nissan Primerra. Rather go in the TVR.

Cheers

You're mad.

If this is indeed a serious request I would take a lot of care.

Mots bike racks work on a combination of tensile straps hooked into a tailgate / bumper plus feet that rest on bodywork, bearing the load. They are nasty, heavy, horrible things.

The best asnwer is not to take the bikes and simply drive everywhere.

Why not hire bikes when you get there?

I'd have to agree - I cycle avidly, but I wouldn't even contemplate putting my bikes on the back of a TVR! I hated using a rack on my 206... take the Nissan and spend the extra petrol money on beers!

Why not take one in the boot (take off wheels and saddle) and hire another when you get there? You won't be able to stow the roof panel at the same time though.

If you're a keen cyclist saying "rent a bike" is like telling a car nut to take the train then visit Easy Car at their destination.

None the less, it's not going to be easy to fit a rack. You'd really need to get the weight on to the chassis somehow. Can't see the GRP supporting it.

Cheers for the help.

Ive spent a lot of money on a bike, so I'm not leaving it at home. Prabably stick it in the back of the Nissan and like you say 'antonyb' Ill use the saved petrol money for beer, or more parts for my bike or even more Leven bits!
