"Shopping Link added by SkimWords"

Suddenly I am getting seemingly random words highlighted in posts and a link provided (usually ebay or shopzilla), and if I hover the mouse pointer over it I get "shopping link added by SkimWords".

Is this some new bright idea from Haymarket in which case "Boooo", or some crap that has installed itself on my laptop?

AdblockPlus extension bizarrely allows these kind of links. If you check the extension settings you can disable these apparently 'unobtrusive' ads too.
