OK, not a newby to PH but a newby to photography. For one reason or another I've had to retire from motorsport so need another hobby. Photography seems to tick the boxes so I've gone out and bought a Nikon D5300 and kit lens for starters, I'm joining the local camera club, I've befriended a couple of cameraists on facetube, and I'm ready to learn smile Hope you wont mind me asking loads of stupid questions over the next few years LOL! This is the first photo I took and I love it, I'm allowed to as it's my photo and my car LOL.

I've a got a few more things to buy as I would like to take loads of motorsport photos, landscapes, macros, light trials, photos of my lovely missus and family......well everything really

Its a photo forum lol. proof is in the pics wink

Anyhow good start buying a camera. You will find heaps of info and advice in here.

mainly read up and shoot a lot. Look at what you shoot, compared to what you would liek to shoot , figure out where it went wront (and right!).

Rinse , repeate.

There are 2 sides to the whole game.

The mechanical - settings, lenses, filters

The art - compsition, creativitiy etc

Both are required, you can make up for one with mote of the other to some extent.

Bloody 'ell Ray! That's an old photo!!! 2009 Cadwell park if I'm not mistaken? Tried a bit of Armco surfing at Barn corner LOL.

Unfortunately Dot doesn't have the Tamora any longer. Sold it about 5 years ago. I chopped in the Tuscan 2 for the DB9 last April. Got the Tuscan Challenge RV8 up for sale as we speak smile

Thanks for the welcome guys!!

I used to enjoying taxying mine across the field at Rougham after a car show and pretending it was a P51 smile (it was silver and decatted, just needed wings)

That sound! cloud9 nearest I've got to it since was Niece's husband's RS4, but I had fun with a DB9 on an A-M day #outofmyleague wink
