Hello folks,

New here but joined due to posts I have read and the crack.

I have a difficult decision to make, I have a couple of nice toys and have now moved from UK to France.

Basically you have to wear beige and drive a Citreon over here if you own a car. A modification here is s/s dustcaps. There is no chance of getting a CT (French MOT) on a modified car. They told me they should fail my van as it has alloys on.

I have my two toys which are now in storage and I do not know what to do with them. I can take them across to France and return to UK once a year to get them MOT'd and continue to use them or sell them or just keep them in storage in UK.

I have a 67 mini cooper which I have spend the equivalent of purchasing a kidney over the past 24 years of ownership and a 88 VW crewcab with a 2.9 V6 Cosworth motor in.

It will break my heart to sell them as they are my children but life decisions make you have to make difficult choices.

Any sensible thoughts, apart from move back to UK.

Keep them registered and MOT'ed in the UK and use them were you are?

Insure them on the VIN number in France?

As above that way you can use them in their modified form in France with no aggravation.

Cars which aren't being used are a right PITA to own.

I'd probably suggest keeping the Mini for old times sake and sell the rest. You can easily buy something which suits your lifestyle when circumstances change.
