I'm in the middle of a body off chassis fix on my '97 4.2AJP and have discovered that the car (bought last year) was involved in a prang at some point. Anyway it was badly repaired and now it turns out that the chassis is bent. I'd presume that any second hand chassis would come from a car that had been also been in an accident. Does anyone know where to get a new chassis or does anyone have any different ideas. I intend to keep the car so want it to be fixed properly but I'm incredibly p*ssed right now

Considering the state of my chassis corrosion, RT can sort even a pretty bent one quite easily. Richard usually has a part-ex refurbished chassis knocking around for decent money.
Sorry for being stupid by Richard at "RT" could you please clarify - thanks for all the help - I'm beginning to think that trying to get it straightened may be the way forwardmikeufo said:

I dont think Richard does new chassis yet but he can repair most.
I was there before christmas and there were some basket cases there with some serious damage
and he said all were fixable.
You will be better off keeping your chassis if you can, as with TVR's jig accuracy of +- half an inch
you may have trouble getting body mounting holes and fixings to match up to a different chassis.
Good luck anyway.
Paul.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm beginning to wonder how much the chassis is out of shape and how much is just original build inaccuracy. TBH there are no obviously bent chassis members so I'm thinking that it might just be a "Monday morning chassis"
What is making you think that it is out of shape? It could well be "natural variation", can you post some pics of the suspect areas? The favourite places for accident damage to show are on the top suspension brackets or the front bottom rail alignment.
Outriggers can be variable. Ideally for replacement, the mounting holes to the body should be the jigged points for welding them to the chassis!
