There is an estate B7 with 130k on the clock on the Autotrader for £12,990 - one owner apparently, must love spending their brass at the local fuel station!

Hard to say all things considered, similar models for sale seem to suggest around 15-16 thousand, but if I were in the market for such a car I'd be saving a bit more and looking at a slightly lesser used version, regardless of service history ETC

I'd be more inclined to go for an example with a few more miles if the service history was better than the usual "stamp in a book" type car. A pile of invoices beats a stamp in a book imo.

Often I would be inclined to agree, but I'd still be wary of such a car with mileage like this.

Why? The engines and 'boxes on these are pretty bullet proof and 95k isn't particularly high on a 7-8 year old car. As above, a pile of invoices showing that all the expensive areas have been covered is more important - discs/pads, oil cooler pipes, auxiliary rads, DRC etc

That answers my next question...
So these are fairly reliable? Cause I have seen the odd used one come up that's had a "brand new engine".

Car will be a weekend car so wont be covering massive miles while I have it...

You don't happen to have seen a stolen/recovered one on an auction site do you?

Obviously no engine's infallible, but I've not heard of many that have lunched themselves. If you've not visited/joined, get over to RS246.com. There's plenty of very solid advice from knowledgeable owners on the forum; quite a few of them have high mileage cars that are still going really well. But don't be under any illusion that they're not expensive cars to run. I'd also recommend buying a forum member's car - they tend to be very well looked after.
