Had my first visit today to Monkfish and the praise is warranted they are great. As I am a fairly new owner I had a few questions for them and I had an annoying noise coming from the front which I wanted investigating. Sort of a clicking squeeking sounds from the suspension but only over very small bumps and dimples. I mused that I thought it was a drop link or top mount failure. I was told that you can't tell if a top mount is on its way out as they just collapse. Drop links and suspension was all ok. 5 mins later I was feeling smug in that it was a top mount which had not failed but was about to so had them changed.

I was booked in for tracking anyway as had it tracked locally but It did not feel right and had a tendency to squat left on heavy acceleration. I also had the loud pipes on the wortec fitted and some new boot struts. I was also informed that they knew my car and has been servicing it since new and that it also had headers fitted which I was not aware of.

My father came with me in his 996 c4s to get that tracked. Total Bill for both cars came to £600 ish which we felt was very reasonable for the work that was done although most of it was on mine, but my father Porsche was out on every variable on tracking and felt completely different on the way back.

The vxr felt stable had no annoying squeaks, pulled up straight when accelerating and I can confirm that loud means LOUD with a capital F. As a daily driver it may be too much for me, especially at 2000rpm which is a resonance that I am sure will cause hearing damage. However the flip side is that it now sounds like a proper musle car. Basey snarly snap crackle and pop. Me like

Happy little camper

yes

The MF geo transforms the handling on a Monaro. Mine seemed like a different car the first time I had it done, so much more planted and confidence inspiring to chuck into corners.
